A lawsuit filed more than five years ago against the Catholic Diocese of Saginaw, a former Bishop and a convicted former priest have been dismissed.
The lawsuit was filed by three of the alleged victims of Robert Deland.
No word on how much the lawsuits were settled for and it appears we might never know, but this long legal battle that started in 2019 appears to be over.
The trial was actually supposed to finally start in September.
It was back in 2018 when police arrested Father Robert Deland, the man many knew as Father Bob.
DeLand was pastor at St. Agnes Parish in Tittabawassee Township.
He faced seven charges related to the alleged sexual assaults of two teens and one young man.
He was found not guilty by a jury in one case, but DeLand then pleaded no contest to three criminal charges.
In 2019, he was sentenced to prison, and paroled in 2021.
