For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself. 1 Corinthians 11:29
Ask yourself this simple question: How much would you need to hate a man to assist him along his journey to eternal perdition? Although I personally disagree with President Biden on just about every one of his political positions, I would NEVER seek the eternal damnation of his immortal soul. As a Catholic, my hope is President Biden would recognize the error of his ways and repent of his sins.
But that’s not apparently the mission of Msgr. John Hopkins and Bishop William Koenig. Msgr. Hopkins is pastor of St Joseph on the Brandywine where President Biden reportedly received Holy Communion this past weekend. Bishop Koenig is the Bishop of Delaware, the diocese in which Msgr. Hopkin’s parish resides. Both of these clerics are fully aware of President Biden’s positions on issues that place his soul in a state of mortal sin. By assisting President Biden’s unworthy reception of the Holy Eucharist, are not they not, in effect, committing a hate crime against the President?
Canon 915 of the Catholic Church states: “Those who who obstinately persevere in manifest grave sin are not to be admitted to holy communion.” The purpose is not to punish the sinner, but rather call him to conversion. Apparently Bishop Koenig and Msgr. Hopkins don’t love President Biden enough to prevent him from sacrilegiously receiving Holy Communion.
