Greensburg Diocese Puts Priest on Leave After Sex Abuse Allegation

A priest who serves at two parishes in the Catholic Diocese of Greensburg is being investigated for alleged sexual abuse of a minor, the diocese announced Monday night.

The allegation against the Rev. Andrew Kawecki dates back 15 years, according to the diocese, which said ChildLine and “the appropriate district attorney” have been notified.

“The investigation is now in the hands of law enforcement,” the diocese said.

Kawecki serves as pastor at St. John the Baptist in Scottdale and St. Joseph in Everson. The diocese said he has been put on leave while the investigation continues.
