Don’t Follow Sean Hannity In His Error

Sean Hannity, the popular Fox News commentator, recently announced he has left the Catholic Church due to “institutionalized corruption.”

Hannity is not alone. A recent poll showed that a third of Catholics have considered leaving the faith due to the abuse scandal.

But choosing to leave the Church is the wrong answer. Catholics should instead be resolute in staying and fighting to cleanse the Church of the smoke of Satan that has entered Her sanctuary.

We should not become disillusioned by the imperfections in Church’s members. When Jesus said, ‘Thou art Peter and upon this rock I shall build my church,” he was referring to the Catholic Church, which has survived for more than 2,000 years. It is the one true Faith established by Jesus Christ who promised us the gates of Hell would not prevail against Her.

We must remain faithful to the words of Christ and come to the defense of His Bride in Her time of need.

Choosing to walk away is, at its core, a selfish act born of our desire to serve our sinful pride.

Then Jesus said to the twelve: Will you also go away? And Simon Peter answered him: Lord, to whom shall we go? Thou hast the words of eternal life. John 6:67-68

For such a time as this have we each been born.  We must choose to pick-up our cross and fight for the honor of Christ’s Bride.

Please pray for those who have elected to leave the Church that they may recognize their error and return to the one true Faith.
