WATCH: Baltimore Priest Removed From Ministry After Abuse Claim Settlement Surfaces

 
A Baltimore priest was removed from his parish after the Archdiocese of Baltimore found out about a secret settlement between the priest and an adult male plaintiff, and is now moving to the Westmoreland County area, according to the Archdiocese of Baltimore.

The Archdiocese of Baltimore said in a statement that Father Paschal Morlino “has returned to his religious community, St. Vincent Archabbey in Latrobe, Pennsylvania. The Archdiocese and Benedictines intend to conduct further investigation.”

According to the Archdiocese of Baltimore, Father Paschal Morlino was removed from his St. Benedict’s Catholic Church and suspended from working as a priest in the archdiocese just 24 hours after learning about a confidential out-of-court settlement Morlino reached privately and in secret with an adult male plaintiff.

In a statement to our sister station, WBAL, the Archdiocese of Baltimore said Father Morlino reached and paid out the settlement on his own.
