Leo’s Rupturing Heart

The demotion of the Blessed Virgin Mary from Co-Redemptrix to, well, something else, is theological only if that theology is divorced from Catholic Tradition.

That means it’s not Catholic. It’s something else: the theology of the damned.

The Holy Spirit came over Mary, and Jesus was incarnate in her womb. The same blood pumped through both of their blessed hearts.

It was the singular most important moment in the history of the world.

Without Mary, there is no Jesus incarnate. It’s that simple. You can’t have one without the other.

That’s why Mary is the Co-Redemtrix, no matter what Leo and his motley crew of liberation theology, sin-blessing, wrecking balls say.

Rupture is at the heart of Leo’s theology. What better way to give the living Church a coronary than to weaken its arteries by “changing attitudes” to corrupt the faith?

Leo’s latest move, by way of the Kissing Cardinal “Tucho” Fernandez, is an in-your-face insult to the Blessed Virgin Mary. When I was growing up, insulting someone’s mother was a challenge: the offender had to apologize or face the consequences.

The consequences for insulting the Mother of God can only be the most dire imaginable. Who would risk it but the devil’s spawn? Nobody else would dare.

Mater Populi Fidelis is blasphemous. You don’t need a degree in theology to see it. If you have a degree in theology and don’t see it, your theology is not Catholic.

It’s something else.
