We can stop the decades old and ongoing destruction of our one holy catholic and apostolic Church. Our ancient Church was established and confirmed by Christ at the Last Supper… He called The Eleven faithful Apostles to go out into the world and BUILD UP the Kingdom of God… right here on Earth. Many modern priests who are genuinely striving to imitate Christ by humbly entering into the daily lives of our vulnerable brothers and sisters, all too often find themselves as targets of their bishop or archbishop. “Why” is the most mysterious question to ask and address.
My personal belief is that decades ago our American bishops began to close the great treasures which Catholicism for centuries brought to various communities around the globe. We have closed many, many of our Catholic parochial schools… mostly in poor and low income parishes. We have sold or closed orphanages, hospitals, nursing homes, hundreds if not thousands of our elementary, high schools, colleges, and dozens of our seminaries.
In addition, numerous once faithful Catholics tell their sons NOT to become a priest! The main reason today is the parents do not want their sons to get involved in the seminary. Why? Because they fear their son would be raped or abused by ordained men involved in seminary formation. These ordained seminary clergy and laity too often are men and women whose own moral character is both suspect and doubtful. Here is where these distrusting and suspecting Catholic parents and their sons stand on firm grounds.
Thousands of seminarians’ vocations have been relegated to numerous heap piles of countless yester-years. Tragically, their hearts, minds and human spirits were threatened and sadly, even severely beaten down and forever wounded. By whom? Our Roman Catholic clergy and laity involved in our seminary formation programs.
We know what has to be done to destroy our Church’s ongoing inside self-destruction! Either we choose to carry out our priesthood as destructive men actively in pursuit of more worldly power and might; or we reform our one holy catholic and Apostolic Church from within. The latter has yet to happen since the 1960s. In fact, our destruction from within our Church persists this very hour.
