Michigan Priest Accused of Sexually Assaulting Parishioner While Spraying Him With Holy Water

Fr. Thomas King is the subject of a sexual abuse report produced at the request of the University of Notre Dame.

In 2007, Fr. Thomas King joined St. Mark Catholic Church in Niles, a parish of the Diocese of Kalamazoo. He transitioned to the role of pastor in 2008, per the report.

Investigators spoke to a former parishioner who told them he met King in confession and King asked him to visit him in his office at the rectory.

At the meeting, King instructed the parishioner to remove his shirt, the report allegations state.

King allegedly circled the parishioner, spraying his bare chest, face and back with holy water. In the process, King allegedly grabbed the parishioner’s groin area, the report said.

The parishioner sat down, in shock.

King then requested the parishioner bring pornographic videos for them to watch, the report alleges.

The parishioner left that evening and never returned to St. Mark. The parishioner did not report the incident to the diocese or officials at that time.
