What’s Stopping Them? Audiology or Ideology?
“You aren’t listening to me!”
Your standard reply:
“Yes I am, honey, I just didn’t hear you!”
In noisy restaurants; at home, when you’re two rooms away; anywhere, when you’re buried in a book – we’ve all heard the conversation:
Eventually, it sinks in: this crisis you can ignore no longer.
So it’s off to the otolaryngologist, the good old ear doctor, who delves into the Erie Canal and finally says, “time for an audiology exam!”
Where you follow orders: put on earphones, do as you’re told, and pay close attention. Raise your finger if you hear, frown, fret, or fumble if you don’t.
Before long, you learn that, while some frequencies you can hear very well, there are others you can hardly hear at all.
Which is usually the news you didn’t want to hear anyway.
Well, that’s the way it is with life. There are some things that you hear, some things you can’t hear, and some things that you just don’t want to hear.
Consider: when you hear, “I don’t wanna talk about it,” it doesn’t mean you’re “Taking the Fifth,” as in, exercising your right to remain silent as guaranteed by the Bill of Rights.
It just means that you’d rather change the subject.
Ask a tranny if his chromosomes are really female.
Ask a pro-abort if that “fetus” is really a baby.
And that goes for our shepherds as well.
These days, they’re loud and clear on some issues, but on others they are silent.
Ask a bishop if that “immigrant” is really an illegal.
They don’t wanna talk about it.
Ask them about “Catholic Joe” Biden.
They don’t wanna talk about it.
Ask them about homosexuals in the hierarchy.
They don’t wanna talk about it.
And the demographic crisis? The collapse of the family? The Church’s teaching on marriage, sex, and children – lots of them?
“Next question, please.”
They are apparently tone-deaf on certain frequencies.
But one wonders, is their problem one of audiology or ideology?
