t the first in-person meeting of the members of the XVI Ordinary Council of the General Secretariat of the Synod, headed by Cardinal Mario Grech, Secretary General of the Synod, it was announced that, because of the death of Pope Francis and the election of a new pope, Leo XIV has decided to allow the study groups to submit their reports on December 31 of this year. The reports had previously been expected to be completed in June.
