WATCH: Texas Sheriff Exposes Crimes of Catholic Charities

 
On February 20, 2025, Jason W. Hoyt and Maria Espinoza hosted a Zoom meeting featuring Sheriff Roy Boyd of Goliad, Texas. The discussion centered on supporting the Trump administration’s border security efforts and encouraging local and state governments to cooperate with federal enforcement. The meeting aimed to inform attendees of the challenges posed by cartel activity and provide actionable ways to support law enforcement in maintaining community safety.

Sheriff Boyd explained that Goliad County, despite its small population of 7,012, has been significantly impacted by cartel operations due to its strategic location between Laredo and Houston. The influx of cartel-affiliated smugglers and foreign actors has led to the establishment of numerous stash sites used for human trafficking, stolen vehicles, and illicit goods.
