UPDATE: Bishops FINALLY Weigh-In On COVID-19 Vaccine
Recent news reports indicate leading drug manufacturers are creating COVID-19 vaccines using aborted children. Children of God for Life, a pro-life Catholic organization, has reported that vaccines being developed by Moderna and Johnson & Johnson make use of aborted fetal cells and tissues.
According to a Vatican letter issued in 2005, “there is a grave responsibility to use alternative vaccines and to make a conscientious objection with regard to those which have moral problems.” Thus, Catholic Bishops should be publicly advocating for the production of ethical COVID-19 vaccines.
As of the time of this article, Bishop Joseph Strickland of Tyler, Texas is the only U.S. Bishop to publicly denounce these immoral vaccines. In a recent tweet, Bishop Strickland stated that he will refuse a potential vaccine for the coronavirus if it is made using tissue from aborted children.
So sad…even with Covid-19 we are still debating the use of aborted fetal tissue for medical research…let me go on record…if a vaccine for this virus is only attainable if we use body parts of aborted children then I will refuse the vaccine…I will not kill children to live

Catholic Bishops have a moral obligation to speak-out on this issue. If a sufficient number of people were prepared to refuse these vaccines, government officials and manufacturers could be compelled to employ methods that do not have their origins in abortion. Please encourage your bishop to join with Bishop Strickland in demanding the development of ethical COVID-19 vaccines.
